About us
We are at the forefront of advancing quantum and superconducting technologies, working on cutting-edge research and development to fabricate superconducting chips. Our mission is to innovate and push the boundaries of chip fabrication while fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking work environment.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and independent RF/Microwave Engineer to join our EM design team. Our superconducting quantum processors live or die by how well we control the electromagnetic environment around every qubit — and you will help shape the chips and packages behind them.
You will work where microwave engineering meets quantum physics: modeling qubit chips and their packaging, hunting down parasitic modes and crosstalk, and turning simulation into design decisions. You will work closely with qubit designers, fabrication and measurement, and your results go straight into hardware that gets built and tested.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-wave electromagnetic simulation of superconducting qubit circuits, resonators and control/readout lines, using eigenmode, driven and quasi-static (capacitance) solvers.
- Model 3D-integration structures — flip-chip interconnects, through-silicon vias and multilayer packaging — and run parametric studies to guide geometry choices.
- Find and suppress parasitic modes and crosstalk across chip and package, including coupling between qubits and on-chip control circuitry.
- Extract circuit parameters — capacitances, couplings, frequencies, Q-factors and participation ratios — to support qubit and processor design.
- Explore data-driven and AI-assisted approaches to accelerate qubit and layout design.
- Correlate simulation with cryogenic measurement data and feed the lessons back into models and designs.
Requirements
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in RF/microwave or mm-wave design and EM simulation.
- Strong proficiency with full-wave 3D and planar EM solvers (e.g. HFSS, CST, Sonnet, Momentum, EMX, COMSOL).
- Solid understanding of transmission lines, resonators, coupling, and cavity/package modes.
- Ability to work independently and communicate technical results clearly in a small, fast-moving team.
Advantages
- Experience with superconducting circuits, cryogenic microwave hardware, or quantum devices.
- Background in packaging, 3D integration, or antenna design.
- Layout experience (GDS) or familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso or other EDA environments.
- Python for simulation scripting and data analysis.
- Experience with HPC-based simulation, machine learning, or optimization methods for design.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to work on pioneering technologies in a cutting-edge field.
- A collaborative environment that values innovation and creativity.
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- A chance to make a significant impact on the future of superconducting and quantum technologies.
